Creates the Uniform Family Law Arbitration Act (Chapter 598A) to govern arbitration of contested family law disputes arising under Iowa's dissolution of marriage, paternity, and child support recovery laws

Allows parties to voluntarily submit family law disputes including child custody, parenting time, visitation, and child support matters to binding arbitration through a signed written agreement

Prohibits arbitrators from granting divorces, terminating parental rights, granting adoptions or guardianships, determining child dependency status, or deciding support in cases involving public assistance assignment

Requires arbitration agreements to be in writing, signed by all parties, and must identify the arbitrator or selection method and the specific disputes to be arbitrated

Establishes that Iowa's Arbitration Act (Chapter 679A) applies generally, but the new Family Law Arbitration Act takes precedence when conflicts arise
