House Bill 529 Summary

• Prohibits persons contracting with dentists from requiring providers to adopt fee schedules for services not covered under the dental plan contract in any dental care provider participation agreement.

• Defines "covered services" as services under the applicable dental plan, dental plan contract, or plan benefits subject to contractual limitations as may apply.

• Adds Section 41-1849 to Chapter 18, Title 41, Idaho Code and Section 41-3444 to Chapter 34, Title 41, Idaho Code with identical provisions regarding dental service contracts.

• Applies to all contracts issued after January 1, 2011, with existing contracts required to comply by their next anniversary date, renewal date, or expiration date of any applicable collective bargaining contract, whichever is latest.
