Congratulates the city of Lewiston, Idaho and the Lewis-Clark Valley for being ranked as one of the most secure places to live in the United States by the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies.

Lewiston and the Lewis-Clark Valley ranked as the most secure small town with a population of less than 150,000 in 2009 based on analysis of 379 municipalities.

Rankings evaluated crime statistics, extreme weather, natural disasters, housing depreciation, foreclosures, air quality, terrorist threats, environmental hazards, life expectancy, and job loss numbers.

The region scored highly due to excellent job growth, low crime rates, and minimal housing depreciation supported by its access to the Pacific Ocean through river, rail, and highway transportation networks that make it the most inland seaport in the western United States.
