Amends Idaho Code Section 18-915 to add employees of the department of labor to the list of protected personnel for assault and battery crimes.

Doubles the standard punishment for assault or battery crimes committed against protected personnel, including the newly added department of labor employees, except as provided in subsections (2) and (3).

Establishes felony punishment of up to 5 years imprisonment with consecutive sentencing for violations against certain officials (judges, magistrates, jailers, correctional officers, and juvenile detention facility staff) committed because of their official duties or status.

Establishes felony punishment of up to 5 years imprisonment with consecutive sentencing for violations against peace officers, sheriffs, and police officers committed because of their official duties or status.

Requires that the perpetrator knows or has reason to know of the victim's status as a protected person for enhanced penalties to apply.
