Senate Bill 1426 Summary

• Appropriates $483,657,200 to the Idaho Transportation Department for fiscal year 2011 across eight programs including Administration, Capital Facilities, Aeronautics, Public Transportation, Planning, Motor Vehicles, Highway Operations, and Contract Construction & Right-of-Way Acquisition.

• Authorizes the Idaho Transportation Department no more than 1,826.5 full-time equivalent positions during the period July 1, 2010, through June 30, 2011, unless specifically authorized by the Governor.

• Directs the State Controller to transfer $25,000 from the State Highway Fund to the Tourism and Promotion Fund in the Department of Commerce during fiscal year 2011 to support Gateway Visitor Centers.

• Reappropriates unexpended and unencumbered balances from fiscal year 2010 for Contract Construction and Right-of-Way Acquisition, Airport Development Grants, and Title XII and Title XIV American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds to be used in fiscal year 2011.

• Establishes as legislative intent that all moneys transferred to the Local Bridge Inspection Fund and Railroad Grade Crossing Protection Fund are continuously appropriated to the Idaho Transportation Department.
