House Bill No. 130 Summary

• Adds consultation authority to the Idaho Immunization Assessment Board, allowing it to consult with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and other experts to carry out provisions of immunization assessment law.

• Revises annual assessment reporting requirements to specify the Department of Health and Welfare must report to the board by January 1 each year on program-eligible children vaccinated, vaccine doses administered, and nonvaccine-for-children funds expended.

• Modifies assessment calculation methodology to require the board consider expected number and cost of vaccine doses to be administered in the pertinent time period, rather than only surplus funds from prior assessments.

• Clarifies that annual assessments must be calculated to fund administrative costs and purchase vaccines with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices as of the board's assessment determination date.

• Revises the Idaho Immunization Dedicated Vaccine Fund provisions to allow excess moneys to be retained by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to fund the program in subsequent periods, including after the chapter is no longer in effect.
