HB 197 Summary

• Removes the Budget Stabilization Levies provision from Idaho Code Section 33-802, which previously allowed school districts not receiving state equalization funds in fiscal year 2006 to authorize a budget stabilization levy.

• Eliminates the requirement for the state department of education to notify the state tax commission, affected counties, and school districts of maximum levy amounts by September 1, 2006.

• Renumbers the remaining subsections in Section 33-802 to reflect the deletion of the Budget Stabilization Levies provision.

• Corrects code references in Section 33-808 to reference Section 33-802(65) instead of outdated subsection numbers.

• Updates Section 50-2908 to correct code references to Section 33-802(32) and (43) regarding school levies for supplemental maintenance and operation.

• Effective date: July 1, 2013.
