Medicaid reimbursement to the Idaho State School and Hospital is $705 per resident per day, more than three times higher than the $226 per day average for privately run intermediate care facilities in Idaho.

Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and Idaho Department of Administration are requested to develop a request for proposal for a private organization to take over operation of the Idaho State School and Hospital.

Idaho Department of Administration is requested to develop a proposal to sell the state-owned buildings and lands surrounding the facility or use them in a way that financially benefits the state.

Both departments are encouraged to work with client advocates and interested parties in developing the proposals and must report their recommendations to the Second Regular Session of the Sixty-first Idaho Legislature.
