Prohibits texting while driving a moving motor vehicle, with exemptions for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical vehicles operating within the course and scope of their duties.

First violation without property damage or injury is an infraction punishable by a fixed penalty of $50.00 plus court costs.

Second and subsequent violations without property damage or injury are infractions punishable by a fixed penalty of $100.00 plus court costs.

Violations involving property damage or injury to any person constitute a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $300 and imprisonment of up to 90 days in jail, or both.
