Amends Idaho Code Section 33-511 to establish procedures for discontinuing schools that were operated by former districts now incorporated into larger districts.

Requires boards of trustees to post and publish notice of proposed school discontinuance by July 1st preceding the planned closure date.

Allows five or more qualified school district electors to petition for an election within 14 days of the notice, with the election to be held within 14 days of the board's order.

Prohibits school discontinuance if a majority of qualified electors voting in the election vote against closure, and bars the board from proposing to close the same school within 9 months of a failed election.

Exempts the notification and election procedures when a building safety administrator determines the school constitutes an imminent public safety hazard or when the school board votes at a public meeting to discontinue the school.
