Board may refuse to issue, refuse to renew, suspend, revoke, or sanction real estate appraiser licenses or certificates for specified violations including fraud, felony conviction, misrepresentation, negligence, contingent fee arrangements, or failure to comply with board orders.

Board or appointed hearing officer has power to administer oaths, take depositions, subpoena witnesses and documents, and compel compliance through district court proceedings for contempt in disciplinary matters.

Removed requirement that reciprocity exist between states as a condition for nonresident licensure or certification, allowing applicants from states with substantially equivalent requirements to obtain licenses.

Temporary licenses or certificates for real estate appraisal may be issued to out-of-state individuals only to the extent required by federal law and subject to board rules.

Nonresident applicants must submit irrevocable consent allowing service of process on the Board in any action arising from their activities as a licensed or certified appraiser.
