Employers cannot require employees to work more than 7.5 consecutive hours per day without providing at least 30 consecutive minutes for a meal period.

Meal periods should be scheduled in the middle of the work period when practicable and may be unpaid.

Exempts employers with 2 or fewer employees at a particular worksite and employees covered by valid collective bargaining agreements or other written agreements.

Director of the Department of Labor may enforce this section according to Idaho Code section 44-1508(1).

Employees may bring court action to enforce meal period requirements against any private or public employer.
