Motor vehicle registration applications must include a provision allowing owners to voluntarily participate in the Idaho State Parks Passport Program.

Passport fees are $10.00 for one year or $20.00 for two years and must be separately identified, accounted for, and paid monthly to the state treasurer for deposit into the Park and Recreation Fund.

Passport fees are not considered motor vehicle registration fees under Idaho's constitutional provisions.

Passport holders are authorized to enter all Idaho state parks without paying motor vehicle entrance fees for their chosen period (one or two years).

The department may continue selling daily and annual motor vehicle entrance passes to residents who opt out of the program and to nonresident visitors.
