Allows territory of more than 1,500 acres located within a fire protection district to be deannexed by the owner submitting written notice to the district board declaring intent to deannex.

Deannexation takes effect 45 days from the date written notice is provided to the district.

Owners remain responsible for paying all fire protection district taxes due on or before the date of deannexation, even after the territory is deannexed.

Requires owners or contract purchasers seeking to annex territory from one fire protection district into another district to obtain written approval from the board of the district where the territory is currently located.
