Persons requesting absentee ballots in irrigation district elections must apply in person or in writing to the district secretary no later than one week before the election is held.

Applicants must subscribe to an elector's oath that may be administered by the district secretary, judges, clerks, notary public, or any person authorized by law to administer oaths.

The oath and absentee ballot must both be received by the district secretary on or before the close of polls on election day to be counted.

For entities voting under section 43-119, Idaho Code, written designations must be provided along with the oath and absentee ballot for the ballot to be counted.

Absentee ballots are subject to challenge like other votes, general election absentee ballot laws do not apply, and this section does not apply to districts using the voting system in section 43-111(2), Idaho Code.
