Insurers offering health care policies with prescription drug coverage must permit and apply prorated daily cost-sharing rates for prescriptions dispensed for less than 30 days' supply when indicated by prescriber or pharmacist for medication synchronization purposes

Insurers cannot deny coverage for chronic illness medications dispensed under a synchronization plan agreed upon by the patient, practitioner, and pharmacist

Insurers must base dispensing fees solely on the total number of prescriptions dispensed, not on a prorated calculation of days' supply of medication

Requirements apply to health care policies delivered, issued for delivery, continued, or renewed in Idaho on or after July 1, 2014
