Senate Bill 1206 - Idaho Real Estate License Law

• Removes references to "equivalent in available correspondence hours" from prelicense requirements, requiring applicants to complete specified classroom hours for salesperson (90 hours) and broker/associate broker (90 additional hours) licenses.

• Revises continuing education requirements to require two (2) commission core courses plus twelve (12) classroom hours for active license renewal, with specific provisions for first-time renewals, inactive license activations, and designated broker/branch manager activations.

• Modifies course provider certification requirements by adding a requirement that designated directors or persons in charge must attend commission-approved provider training within two (2) years immediately preceding designation.

• Establishes that course provider certifications are valid for two (2) years and must be renewed with proof that the designated director attended commission-approved provider training within the past two (2) years.

• Clarifies that civil penalties collected by the commission shall be deposited in the special real estate fund and expended exclusively for developing and delivering Idaho real estate education to benefit Idaho real estate licensees.
