Amends Section 33-1509, Idaho Code to add liability protections for school bus drivers who reasonably act to aid riders in imminent danger of harm or injury while performing their duties.

School bus drivers are protected from both civil and criminal liability when taking reasonable action to help a bus rider whom the driver reasonably believes faces imminent danger of harm or injury.

Liability protection applies only when the driver is acting within the course and scope of their duties as a school bus driver.

The amendment maintains all existing requirements for school bus driver qualifications, including age (18+), moral character standards, physical examination standards, commercial driver's license requirements, and health certificate filings.

The amendment includes provisions allowing individuals with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus to request waivers from the state department of education if they meet specified medical and monitoring requirements.
