Hobbyist beekeepers are exempt from the $10.00 annual registration fee for up to 50 colonies and the 10¢ per colony fee for colonies exceeding 50.

Hives brought into Idaho for indoor winter storage before moving to another state for pollination or honey production are exempt from registration and assessment fees.

Beekeepers with hives in temporary storage must register and provide: storage location, approximate storage dates, owner name/address/phone number, and an in-state contact's name/address/phone number.

Hobbyist beekeepers are exempt from the 5¢ annual per-hive tax, but may voluntarily register and pay a $10.00 annual fee to support the honey commission and be included on distribution lists.

Hives in temporary storage are also exempt from the per-hive tax, subject to the same registration and information requirements as the registration fee exemption.
