Mandates adoption of computer science content standards aligned with nationally recognized standards in 2016 for implementation in the 2017-2018 school year

Requires development of professional development programs including online and blended training, grants to school districts and charter schools for teacher incentives, and partnership with higher education and industry entities

Directs creation of an online portal with high-quality computer science instructional resources aligned with state standards that allows collaborative sharing by teachers, administrators, parents and students

Authorizes STEM action center to select one or more providers through request for proposals to deliver comprehensive computer science solutions to public school districts and charter schools

Requires STEM action center and state board of education to provide annual reports to the legislature on initiative status
