• First violations of Idaho Code sections 23-604 (minors purchasing/possessing alcohol) and 23-949 (minors serving/dispensing alcohol) are reclassified as infractions with a maximum fine of $1,300; second and subsequent violations remain misdemeanors with fines up to $2,000-$3,000 and jail time up to 30-60 days.

• First-time alcohol age infraction violators may have driving privileges suspended for up to one year, with courts authorized to order alcohol evaluation and treatment programs.
