House Bill 515 Summary

• No contract shall be issued for the next ensuing year until the employee's formal written performance evaluation has been completed.

• If applicable student data from Idaho's standards achievement test is not received within 30 days of the evaluation deadline, school districts shall utilize one objective measure of growth in student achievement (other than the standards achievement test) to complete the student achievement component of performance evaluations.

• The superintendent shall conduct an annual written formal evaluation of the superintendent's work to be completed no later than June 1, indicating strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.

• Assistant superintendents and principals shall receive an annual written evaluation completed no later than June 1, conducted by the superintendent, superintendent's designee, or board of trustees in districts without a superintendent.

• Changes the evaluation completion deadline from May 1 to June 1 in sections 33-514 and 33-515 for annual contracts and renewable contracts.
