Wireless telecommunications carriers must provide call location information to law enforcement agencies upon request when responding to emergency services calls or situations involving risk of death or serious physical harm.

Carriers may voluntarily establish protocols to disclose call location information and are granted immunity from lawsuits when providing such information in good faith under this section.

Carriers are not liable for inability to locate or ping devices due to absence of emergency communications systems equipment in the area.

All wireless telecommunications carriers and resellers operating in Idaho must submit emergency contact information to the Idaho State Police annually by June 15 or immediately upon any change in contact information.

The Idaho State Police shall maintain a database of wireless carrier emergency contact information and make it immediately available to all public safety answer points in the state; the director must promulgate rules by July 1, 2017.
