Write-in ballots shall not be allowed or counted in presidential primary elections in Idaho.

Counties are not required to print a presidential primary ballot for a political party that does not have candidates for more than half of the federal or statewide offices and has no more than one candidate filing for any office on the ballot.

Unaffiliated electors may change their party affiliation or register with a party by filing a signed form with the county clerk no later than the second Friday of February in even-numbered years, or up to and including election day.

Unaffiliated electors voting in primary elections may select a political party affiliation on or before election day by declaring their choice to poll workers, with the selection recorded in the voter registration system.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval, with retroactive application to January 1, 2016.
