House Bill No. 9 Summary

• Establishes the Board of Massage Therapy in the department of self-governing agencies, bureau of occupational licenses, consisting of five members appointed by the governor
• Requires four board members to be licensed massage therapists and one member to be a public representative with interest in consumer rights
• Mandates all board members be Idaho residents for at least three years immediately preceding appointment and throughout their service
• Limits board members to a maximum of two three-year terms with no more than one member affiliated with a massage therapy school or course of instruction
• Board member compensation shall be provided according to section 59-509(np), Idaho Code
