House Bill No. 162 Summary

• Amends Section 49-117, Idaho Code to revise the definition of "Proof of financial responsibility" for motor vehicles

• Updates minimum liability insurance coverage requirements to $25,000 for bodily injury or death of one person, $100,000 for bodily injury or death of two or more persons, and $15,000 for property damage in any single accident

• Corrects code references and makes technical corrections throughout the definitions section, including fixing reference to section 19-5101(d) for "Peace officer" definition

• Becomes effective January 1, 2018 and applies to all relevant insurance policies, coverages, and contracts written or renewed on or after that date
