House Bill 262 Summary

• Legislature intends to continue distributing all appropriated funds for college and career advising pursuant to Section 33-1212A, Idaho Code

• Increases funding for counseling support (college and career advising) for grades 8-12 in the Educational Support Program formula

• For school districts and public charter schools with 100+ students in grades 8-12, raises minimum funding from $10,000 to $14,000

• For school districts and public charter schools with fewer than 100 students in grades 8-12, raises per-student funding from $100 to $140 per student, with minimum of $5,000 increasing to $7,000

• Adds provision for master teacher premiums as a separate line item in the funding formula

• Section 3 becomes effective July 1, 2019
