State board shall prescribe minimum courses for public elementary and secondary schools and prepare syllabi, study guides, and instructional aids as deemed necessary.

Board shall determine adoption process and fees for curricular materials; publishers must provide electronic formats for literary and nonliterary subjects to the department of education for reproductions for use by the blind.

Board shall establish by rule the process and fees for department of education review and approval of online courses under section 33-1024.

School district boards may adopt their own curricular materials consistent with Idaho content standards; if the state board adopts Common Core standards, districts may instead adopt alternative content standards and corresponding curricular materials for that subject.

"Common Core standards" is defined as standards developed and authored by the Council of Chief State School Officers and the National Governors Association.
