AI Summary
- Students in grades 6-12 may receive an excused absence for sounding "Taps" at a military honors funeral for a deceased veteran held in Idaho
- Parent, guardian, or student (if 18+) must notify school administration at least 2 days prior to the absence with funeral date, time, and location; this requirement may be waived if advance notice was not received
- Excused absences count as if the student attended school for purposes of calculating average daily attendance
- Students must be allowed reasonable time to complete missed schoolwork, and if satisfactorily completed, the absence counts toward compulsory attendance with no penalty
