Public libraries receiving public funds must have an internet safety policy that applies to both publicly accessible computers and wireless internet access.

For minors, libraries must operate technology protection measures against obscene material, child pornography, and material harmful to minors, and must enforce these measures during minor use.

For general patrons, libraries must have an internet safety policy that may include technology protection measures, with optional enforcement.

Library administrators may disable technology protection measures at patron request to enable access for lawful purposes.

Each library's board of trustees must develop, adopt in an open meeting, and review the policy at least once every three years, with notice posted conspicuously in the library.
