Repeals existing Section 34-1815, Idaho Code, relating to false statements concerning petitions and replaces it with new provisions on unlawful tactics for obtaining signatures.

Makes it a misdemeanor to willfully or knowingly make false statements or misrepresentations concerning the contents, purport, or effect of a petition for the purpose of obtaining signatures.

Requires persons obtaining petition signatures to show the petition's short title and general title to the person whose signature is sought prior to obtaining the signature, with willful or knowing failure to comply constituting a misdemeanor.

Voids any signature obtained following an act or omission deemed a misdemeanor under the new section.

Establishes distinct penalties for violations of Section 34-1815: confinement in county jail not exceeding one year or a fine not exceeding $1,000, or both, which is less severe than penalties for other petition-related violations under Idaho Code.
