The administrator of the Idaho Division of Building Safety is authorized to conduct safety inspections and training programs for logging operations and may issue immediate stop work orders when inspections reveal conditions posing serious bodily harm or loss of life.

The director of the Idaho State Police and Idaho Transportation Board may issue stop work orders and detain vehicles on public highways when safety threats are identified; orders remain in effect until the threat is corrected or removed.

Logging trucks transporting on Idaho's public highways are subject to the Division of Building Safety's administrative rules relating to minimum safety standards and practices, which are enforced by the director of the Idaho State Police and the Idaho Transportation Board.

Violation of a safety order is a misdemeanor offense, and safety orders may be enforced through civil action brought by the attorney general in district court.

The administrator shall promulgate rules adopting minimum logging safety standards and procedures for conducting inspections and safety training programs.
