Electric-assisted bicycles are exempt from driver's licensing, registration, titling, and financial responsibility requirements that apply to motor vehicles.

Riders of electric-assisted bicycles have the same rights, duties, and safety requirements as bicycle riders and may use paths where bicycles are permitted unless prohibited by local ordinance or signage.

Manufacturers must label electric bicycles with classification number, top assisted speed, and motor wattage in at least 9-point Arial font starting September 1, 2019.

Violations of applicable provisions by electric-assisted bicycle riders are classified as infractions.
