The Idaho Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Board consists of seven members appointed by the governor for three-year terms, all requiring U.S. citizenship and at least two years Idaho residency.

Board membership includes two active HVAC contractors with at least five years' experience, one city official, one county official, one private sector mechanical engineer with mechanical system design experience, one HVAC specialty contractor industry representative, and one general public member interested in consumer rights.

The board must meet within 30 days after all members are appointed and at least twice yearly thereafter, with a majority constituting a quorum for conducting business.

Board members elect a chairman and vice chairman at the first meeting and every two years thereafter.

Board members receive compensation as provided in Idaho Code Section 59-509(n).
