Amends Section 59-1352A, Idaho Code, relating to public safety officer permanent disability benefits under the Public Employee Retirement System.

Provides a one-time permanent disability benefit of $100,000 to public safety officers (police officers, firefighters, and paid firefighters) ruled permanently disabled from work-related bodily injury or disease on or after July 1, 2009.

Requires the retirement board to determine that the disability occurred in the line of duty, was not caused by intentional misconduct or voluntary intoxication, and was not self-inflicted before approving the benefit.

Establishes that the benefit is separate from other retirement benefits, not dependent on years of service or age, and is exempt from state income taxes.

Requires public safety officers to fund the entire cost of this benefit in perpetuity, with no employer contribution.
