Reduces the number of nominees the legislative district committee must submit to fill a legislature vacancy from three (3) to one (1) nominee within 15 days.

Governor shall appoint the nominee to fill the vacancy within 15 days, or if no appointment is made within 15 days, the legislative district committee's nominee automatically fills the vacancy.

Removes the requirement that the governor appoint from a list of three (3) nominations, streamlining the appointment process to a single nominee submission.

Maintains that the nominee must possess constitutional qualifications and be affiliated with the same political party as the former member whose seat is vacant.

Vacancy remains filled by the appointed person until the next general election, when the position shall be filled by election.
