House Bill 544 Summary

• Removes references to "Wildlife Management Areas" (WMAs) and expands upland game bird hunting permit requirements to department-owned lands, lands managed under agreement with the department, and private lands in department-sponsored public access programs.

• Renames the "Wildlife Management Area (WMA) Upland Game Bird Permit" to simply "Upland Game Bird Permit" in the fee schedule, with resident fee of $27.00 and nonresident fee of $50.00.

• Updates violation provisions in Idaho Code Section 36-1401 to replace references to "wildlife management areas" with "locations where pheasants are stocked and the commission requires an upland game bird permit."

• Makes technical corrections to align hunting location terminology throughout the fish and game code sections being amended.
