Political treasurers for judicial office candidates and local government candidates are exempt from filing campaign finance reports until contributions or expenditures reach $500 or more.

Once the $500 threshold is met, the political treasurer must file a cumulative report within seven calendar days covering all activity from the first contribution or expenditure to the current date.

Political committees not specifically designated to support or oppose candidates are exempt from filing reports until contributions or expenditures reach $1,000 or more.

Once the $1,000 threshold is reached, political committees must file a cumulative report within seven calendar days and continue filing subsequent reports under standard procedures.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval with an emergency declaration.
