Senate Bill 1325 Summary

• School districts must establish programs allowing noncertificated employees to seek teacher certification while employed, funded through professional development moneys or other district sources.

• Noncertificated employees using professional development funds must already hold a baccalaureate degree and be teaching under a provisional certificate.

• Up to $500,000 from the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship program account may be awarded annually to noncertificated school district or public charter school employees seeking certification through district programs.

• Amends Idaho Code Section 33-517 to create the certification program authority and makes technical corrections to noncertificated personnel grievance procedures.
