House Bill 404 Summary

• Adds definition of "indirect supervision" allowing a supervising veterinarian to be unavailable on premises but reachable by telephone, radio, or other means, with written or oral instructions for treatment and prior animal examination, except chiropractic allied health professionals do not require prior instructions or examination.

• Allows chiropractic allied health professionals certified by recognized associations and licensed in good standing with state boards to represent themselves through offerings, advertisements, and professional titles if services are limited to permitted procedures within their certification scope.

• Permits allied health professionals actively licensed and in good standing in any state to participate in animal medical procedures within their licensed field under indirect supervision of a veterinarian or to represent themselves per professional designation rules.

• Makes technical corrections to Idaho Code sections 54-2103 and 54-2104 regarding veterinary practice definitions and licensing exceptions.
