Legislature invokes Idaho Code Section 32-1010, which establishes parents' fundamental constitutional right to nurture and direct their children's upbringing and education.

Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) Rule 17-2-3 restricts high school staff to coaching no more than two students at one time during the school year, which the resolution argues unintentionally restricts parents' constitutional rights.

Legislature requests IHSAA amend Rule 17-2-3 to exclude parents from the restriction, allowing parents who volunteer, work for the school district, or are walk-on coaches to coach their children in non-scholastic competition.

Legislature calls on IHSAA to cease creating additional rules that restrict parents' constitutional rights to nurture and direct their children's development.

Resolution commends parents actively involved in their children's scholastic and non-scholastic activities and directs that a copy be forwarded to IHSAA for distribution to all member schools.
