School district trustee recall elections must be held on election dates authorized in Idaho Code section 34-106(9).

When a trustee is recalled or resigns following a recall petition filing, the resulting vacancy must be filled by election on the next available election date at least 85 days after the county clerk orders the election.

If the election will be held within 100 days of the clerk's order, the seat remains vacant until the election; if held more than 100 days later, a temporary trustee is appointed under accelerated timelines (30 days instead of 90 days, and 60 days instead of 120 days).

If multiple trustees are recalled and the board loses quorum, county commissioners may appoint only enough temporary trustees necessary to restore quorum until the next election date.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage and approval as an emergency measure.
