HB 529 Summary

• Removes provisions related to validation registration stickers and annual registration sticker requirements from Idaho motor vehicle registration law
• Eliminates the staggered registration system based on monthly validation sticker numbers; vehicles will still have registration periods but without physical stickers
• Provides for license plate issuance under sections 49-402, 49-402A, and 49-402E without requiring annual validation stickers
• Makes technical corrections and fixes code references throughout motor vehicle registration statutes (sections 49-202, 49-402, 49-411, 49-412, 49-428, 49-434, 49-443, and 67-7602B)
• Effective date: July 1, 2022, declared as emergency legislation
