House Bill 572 Summary

• Establishes the Idaho directorate of civil air patrol within the military division to support and facilitate operations of the Idaho wing of civil air patrol under its commanding officer's control.

• The military division shall administer appropriated moneys for the Idaho wing of civil air patrol by promptly transferring funds as grants or similar means in an amount not less than the appropriation.

• The military division may specify reporting requirements, and the Idaho wing of civil air patrol must make financial records available accounting for usage of appropriated moneys.

• Operational or training missions assigned to the Idaho wing by the Idaho office of emergency management must be governed by a separate memorandum of understanding executed between the office and civil air patrol.

• Mission expense reimbursements specified in the memorandum of understanding shall be paid from moneys otherwise available to the Idaho office of emergency management, in addition to any appropriated funds.

• The act becomes effective July 1, 2022, and is declared an emergency measure.
