HB 641 Summary

• Allows allied health professionals actively licensed in any state to participate in medical procedures involving animals under indirect supervision of a licensed Idaho veterinarian, provided the procedure is within their licensed field of medicine.

• Permits chiropractic allied health professionals to represent themselves through offerings, advertisements, and professional titles if certified by the American or International Veterinary Chiropractic Association, in good standing with their state board, and limiting services to those permitted under Idaho law.

• Modifies the definition of "indirect supervision" to exempt chiropractic allied health professionals meeting specified conditions from requiring written or oral treatment instructions or prior veterinarian examination before treatment.

• Makes technical corrections to definitions of "assistant" and revises language throughout Idaho Code Sections 54-2103 and 54-2104.

• Declares an emergency and makes the act effective July 1, 2022.
