Extends notification deadline for deaths of intestate strangers or persons without known heirs from 48 hours to 72 hours, requiring notice to the public administrator (Section 14-104).

Extends notification deadline for public officials to inform the public administrator of decedent's property from 48 hours to 72 hours (Section 14-107).

Extends deadline for coroner or public official to notify county treasurer of money or property found on a dead body from 48 hours to 72 hours, and adds requirement to verify no legal next of kin or administrator exists before notifying (Section 31-2117).

Modifies indigent burial or cremation provisions to allow coroner to authorize cremation after 10 days of death only after application is filed, removing the requirement that application be made prior to services rendered (Section 31-3412).

Effective date: July 1, 2022, declared an emergency measure.
