Extends the notification deadline from 48 to 72 hours for reporting deaths of intestate strangers or persons without known heirs to the public administrator under Section 14-104.

Extends the notification deadline from 48 to 72 hours for public officials to inform the public administrator of a deceased person's property and adds requirement to verify no legal next of kin or administrator exists under Section 14-107.

Extends the notification deadline from 48 to 72 hours for coroners or public officials to notify the county treasurer of money or property found on a dead body, contingent on verification of no legal next of kin or administrator under Section 31-2117.

Authorizes a coroner to authorize cremation ten (10) days following death if unable to establish next of kin or other resources, and if a signed waiver of intent to abandon has been obtained, prior to approval of an indigent cremation application under Section 31-3412.

Effective date is July 1, 2022, with emergency clause declared.
