For counties with at least one office election or ballot question occurring in both Idaho time zones, county clerks must withhold all election results from the public until all voting places statewide have closed on election day.

For counties with no office elections or ballot questions occurring in both time zones, county clerks may release election results to the public anytime after all voting places in that county have closed on election day.

Election personnel must tally votes cast under each office title and enter results in tally books as prescribed by the secretary of state, with invalid ballots excluded from counts.

Following vote counting, judges must transmit results to the county clerk.

The act takes effect on July 1, 2022, with an emergency declaration.
