Amends Section 50-907, Idaho Code, to define "municipal media recordings" as digital files with visual or audible components created by a municipality, excluding law enforcement recordings.

Defines "law enforcement media recordings" as digital files created by municipal law enforcement agencies containing visual or audible components.

Establishes 90-day retention requirement for all municipal and law enforcement media recordings, with automatic deletion permitted thereafter unless a public records request is made within the 90-day period.

Requires media recordings associated with law enforcement reports or prosecutions to be classified by city council as permanent, semipermanent, or temporary records per existing retention schedules.

Allows municipal media recordings and law enforcement media recordings to be destroyed without city council resolution, unlike other municipal records that typically require formal approval.

Effective date: July 1, 2023.
