House Bill 143 Summary

• Adds a new 3-Day Fur Buyer License for nonresidents at $72.50, available only to nonresidents temporarily in Idaho to buy raw hides, skins, pelts, or parts.

• Revises Section 36-602 to simplify nonresident taxidermist and fur buyer license fees by requiring a flat fee as specified in the fee schedule rather than comparing to applicant's home state fees.

• Establishes license expiration dates of June 30 of the fifth year following issuance for 5-year licenses and June 30 following issuance for 1-year licenses.

• Updates the commercial license fee schedule in Section 36-416 to include the new 3-Day Fur Buyer License and adjust the nonresident taxidermist-fur buyer 1-year license fee to $185.25.

• Declares an emergency and makes the act effective July 1, 2023.
